Our mission is simple: to empower individuals to embrace life to the fullest through personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate healthcare.Address: 107 Old River Rd, Suite DMontgomery, Texas 77356Hours:Tuesdays: 9:00am – 5:00pmGENERAL SUMMARY:To provide quality patient care services to the patient of Allergy & ENT Associates & Centers for Advanced Audiology within the guidelines established by the practice and is qualified and licensed to evaluate, treat and refer to appropriate related healthcare providers for pediatric and adult patients with hearing and balance related disorders. The audiologist supports the goals and objectives of Allergy & ENT Associates & Centers for Advanced Audiology in the overall delivery of care.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides efficient direct patient care services within guidelines, policies and objectives established by practice. Provides efficient interpretation and counseling of findings to patient and/or family and/or caregiver. Collaborates with team of physicians, office manager and nurse coordinator to provide quality patient care services. Gives input and feedback through formal and informal channels to improve patient services and processes.Competent in performance and interpretation of: basic comprehensive audiometry, immittance, otoacoustic emission testing, conditioned play audiometry, behavioral observation audiometry, visual reinforcement audiometry, otoscopy, cerumen management, hearing instrument assessment, hearing instrument fitting, earmold impressions, selection and fitting of various recreational earplugs, real ear measurement, hearing instrument test box/minor repairs/trouble shooting, Dix-Hallpike, Canolith Repositioning Maneuver.Knowledgeable in vestibular etiologies; provide appropriate recommendations. Knowledgeable in tinnitus etiologies and available treatment options; provide appropriate recommendations. Knowledgeable in cochlear implant and bone anchored hearing devices available; provide appropriate recommendations. Able to develop and implement educational programs for patients, staff and the community as needed and assigned.Follows OSHA regulation and safety guidelines for the practice; respects and maintains patient and practice confidentiality. Performs other work as required and assigned within specific scope of practice, certification and licensure. Continues professional self-development in the specialty through participation in educational program and/or professional organizations. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the auditory and vestibular systems, audiology procedures and current audiology scope of practice. Excellent planning, organizational and communication skills.Knowledge of and ability to collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the diagnosis and treatment of the patient.Must be self-directed and able to work independently.Skilled in exercising high degree of initiative, judgement and decision-making. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Graduate of an accredited Doctoral level Audiology Program or graduate of an accredited Master level Program with at least 8 years of experience to include both adult and pediatric patients. Current Texas license as an audiologist or Audiology Intern with supervision. Must possess strong planning, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.Four years related experience with medical specialty Ear, Nose and Throat preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Position is in a fast paced medical office environment. Good eyesight, hearing, manual dexterity and full range of body motion required. Must be able to stand and sit for extended periods of time. May require occasional transfer assistance of patients involving proper lifting techniques. May be exposed to acutely ill patients, communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens and airborne allergens. May encounter possible legal action for malpractice.
