As a Virtual Audiologist, you will be responsible for conducting remote assessments, diagnosing hearing issues, providing personalized treatment plans, and offering ongoing support and counseling to patients, all through virtual platforms. This is an excellent opportunity for an Audiologist who values innovation, flexibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in patients’ lives.Key Responsibilities:Conduct virtual consultations with patients to assess hearing health and evaluate hearing-related concerns. Perform comprehensive audiological evaluations, including pure-tone audiometry, speech audiometry, tympanometry, and otoacoustic emissions testing. Interpret test results accurately and communicate findings to patients in a clear and compassionate manner. Diagnose hearing loss, balance disorders, and other auditory conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans based on patients’ needs and preferences. Provide guidance on hearing aid selection, fitting, and adjustment, as well as assistive listening devices and other hearing assistive technologies. Offer counseling and education to patients and their families on hearing conservation, communication strategies, and coping mechanisms. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as primary care physicians, otolaryngologists, and speech-language pathologists, to ensure coordinated care and optimal outcomes for patients. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including assessment findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and communication logs. Stay informed about advancements in audiology research, technology, and best practices, and integrate new knowledge into clinical practice. Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing the practice of audiology, including patient confidentiality and informed consent. Qualifications:Doctoral degree (Au.D.) in Audiology from an accredited university. Current license to practice Audiology in Pennsylvania. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in audiology, preferably with experience in telehealth or remote patient care. Proficiency in using telehealth platforms and video conferencing software for remote consultations. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients and effectively convey complex information. Excellent diagnostic skills and the ability to interpret audiometric test results accurately. Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help improve patients’ quality of life through better hearing. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in audiology. Flexibility to adapt to changing technology and workflows as the telehealth landscape evolves. Preferred Qualifications:Certification from the American Board of Audiology (ABA) or the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Experience working with diverse patient populations, including pediatric and geriatric populations. Knowledge of insurance billing and reimbursement processes for audiological services.
